When you send a message to a Microsoft Exchange Server computer, the
default font color may be set to black when the message is converted to
Rich Text Format (RTF), instead of being set to Automatic. As a result, if
you open the message on a computer on which the default background color is
set to black, you cannot view the text in the message.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Exchange Server

STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Exchange Server
version 5.5. This problem was first corrected in Exchange Server 5.5
