SYMPTOMS

The CPU Usage History section on the Performance tab in Task Manager normally displays a frame for each processor. If your computer has more than eight processors, the CPU Usage History shows only eight CPUs and leaves a blank gray space where the other CPU frames should be. It also repaints the screen continuously and the screen becomes unreadable after a period of time.
