SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to print a Web page to a PostScript printer, you may receive the following error message:

An error has occurred in your program. To keep working anyway, click Ignore and save your work in a new file. To quit this program, click Close. You will lose information you entered since your last Save.

When you click Ignore or Close, you receive the following error message:

This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down. If the problem persists, contact the program vendor.

When you click Details, the following information is displayed:

IEXPLORE caused a segment not present fault in module GDI.EXE at 0001:0000AA56.

CAUSE

This problem can occur if both of the following conditions exist:

The Web address (also known as the Uniform Resource Locator, or URL) for the Web page exceeds 128 characters in length. This may be the case when the Web page contains search results, and the URL contains the search criteria.
You are using the PostScript printer driver that is included with Microsoft Windows 95.

RESOLUTION

You may be able to work around this issue by using one or more of the following methods:

It may be possible to work around this problem by using a PostScript printer driver other than the driver provided with Windows 95. For example, this problem may not occur when you use a PostScript printer driver that is provided by the printer manufacturer or by Adobe Systems Incorporated. When you change to a new printer driver, always shut down any open programs and restart the computer.
Save the page, and then open the local copy of the page that you saved and print it. This may work because the path is no longer the long entry that includes search criteria. Instead, it is simply the path and file name on the local computer.
Take the URL out of the Header or Footer information for the page.
