When you click the Increase Decimal button on the Formatting toolbar, new number formats are created that appear on the Number tab of the Format Cells dialog box. (To open this dialog box, click Cells on the Format menu.)

These new number formats correspond to the number of decimal places added:
one custom number format is added for each decimal place you add to the
number when you click the Increase Decimal toolbar button. The new number formats are visible when you click Custom in the Category list on the Number tab of the Format Cells dialog box. These number formats remain, even when you click the Decrease Decimal toolbar button on the Formatting toolbar.
