OL2000: Differences Between Outlook and Outlook ExpressSYMPTOMS
When you start Microsoft Outlook 2000 or first connect to your MCI Internet
Mail server, you may receive the following error message:
Dial-up networking settings not valid. Please check your password.
RESOLUTION
This behavior may result from incorrect settings in the Internet mail
account properties. Follow these steps to troubleshoot this behavior:

The MCI Internet Mail system uses one server for receipt of messages and a
second server for sending messages. In the Accounts settings, the POP3
server identifies the mail server from which you receive mail. The SMTP
server identifies the mail server from which you send mail.
