SUMMARY

After installing the Symantec Fax Starter Edition with Microsoft Outlook 2000, you decide to upgrade to the full version of WinFax Pro. After upgrading, you notice that the Fax numbers fields are empty when WinFax Pro is set to view information from your Outlook Contacts folder.

WinFax Pro, version 8.x looks for fax and voice numbers in the Outlook Contacts fields, "Other Fax" and "Primary Phone." Since these fields are often unused, they appear unpopulated when viewed from the WinFax Pro phone book.

Symantec has supplied a utility, Wfupdate.exe that corrects this condition. You need this utility only with the Contacts generated with the Internet Mail Only (IMO) installation of Outlook. WinFax Pro 8.x phone book correctly displays these phone number fields in the Corporate/Workgroup (CW) installation of Outlook.

The utility does the following:

Copies Business/Home Fax numbers to the Other Fax field
Copies Business/Home phone numbers to the Primary Phone field.

If a number is exists in either of these fields, the utility will not overwrite that number.

To obtain the WinFax Pro Update utility, use either of the following methods:
