OL2000: Days, Weeks, and Months Displayed in Foreign Language

SYMPTOMS

All dates appear in a foreign language although all text appears correctly in English. This behavior affects all views.

CAUSE

The Regional Settings in Control Panel are not set to "English (United States)."

RESOLUTION

Change the Regional Settings to "English (United States)."

MORE INFORMATION

In Outlook, dates and some menu controls are displayed in the language selected in the Regional Settings tool.

To change the Regional Settings, follow these steps:

  1. Click the Start button, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
  2. Double-click the Regional Settings icon.
  3. On the Regional Settings tab, click "English (United States)" in the list, and click OK.
  4. Close Control Panel and restart your computer.
