SYMPTOMS

During the execution of a program, a "STOP 0x0000000A" or "STOP 0x00000050" error message may appear.
During the execution of a program, a "STOP 0x0000000A" or "STOP 0x00000050" error message may appear.

The parameters of the stop code may vary.

The problem only occurs with Windows NT 4.0 with Service Pack 3 installed.

The issue was first noticed during the second portion of Exceed 6.1 Setup if the workstation files are stored on a NetWare 4.11 server. Various other scenarios can reproduce the same issue.

RESOLUTION

Service pack information

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft Windows NT 4.0. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

STATUS

This problem was first corrected in Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 5.Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

This problem was first corrected in Windows NT version 4.0 Service Pack 5.

The fix is actually a post-Service Pack 3 Hotfix for customers running Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 3.
