Change the default home page from Default.htm to Index.htm

To change the default home page from Default.htm to Index.htm, follow these steps.

Microsoft Personal Web Server 1.0

  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
  2. Double-click the Personal Web Server icon.
  3. Click the Administration tab.
  4. Click Administration.
  5. Click WWW Administration.
  6. Click the Directories tab.
  7. Click Default Homepage.
  8. Rename Default.htm to Index.htm.

Microsoft Personal Web Server 4.0

  1. In the System Tray, right-click the Personal Web Server icon.
  2. Click Properties.
  3. In the Personal Web Manager dialog box, switch to the Advanced view.
  4. In the Default Document(s) text box, rename Default.htm to Index.htm.
  5. Close the Personal Web Manager dialog box.
