STREAMS Does Not Handle User Data Correctly

SYMPTOMS

Winsock API-based X.25 support does not function correctly when used with the Windows NT streams driver.

CAUSE

The TDI-to-TPI wrapper in Windows NT streams driver does not update the message block write pointers properly in handling Connect/Disconnect User Data, as well as the Connect/Disconnect Options.

RESOLUTION

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Windows NT version 4.0. This problem was first corrected in Windows NT version 4.0 Service Pack 5.
