Toolbars Menu Commands Are Unavailable in Windows 98

SYMPTOMS

When you right-click the taskbar and point to Toolbars, the following commands may be unavailable:
  • Address
  • Links
  • Desktop
  • Quick Launch
  • New Toolbar

CAUSE

This issue can occur if you have disabled Internet Explorer by using the TweakUI program.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, enable Internet Explorer in TweakUI:
  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
  2. Double-click TweakUI, click the IE4 tab, click to select the IE4 enabled check box, and then click OK.
  3. Restart your computer.
