The tasks status indicator states "Update has not been submitted" even though the task is submitted

Expand all | Collapse all

Symptom

In Microsoft Project Web Access, when you update actual work in the My Tasks page and click Submit to send the update to the project manager, a red explanation point is displayed next to the task name. If you hover your mouse over the red explanation point you see the following message:

"Update has not been submitted"

This message appears even though the update has been submitted.

Cause

When you submit a task update, the call is made only to the PSI.  The SQL Server database is not queried until the page is refreshed or reloaded.

Resolution

In order to display the correct indicator next to the task, click My Tasks in the left navigation pane to refresh the page.  Alternately, click away from the My Tasks page and then go back to the My Tasks page.  When you do this, the red exclamation point disappears.
