Symptoms

When installing a Configuration Manager 2007 client agent, the setup process may fail and you may find the following error in the ccmsetup.log:

Failed to correctly receive a webdav http request
Failed to successfully complete HTTP request. (StatusCode at WinHttpQueryHeaders: 405).

Cause

This can occur if WebDAV 7.0 for IIS 7.0 (x86) is installed on the Windows Server 2008 site server.

Resolution

1. Remove WebDAV 7.0 for IIS 7.0 from the site server, reboot and then install WebDAV 7.5 for IIS 7.0 (x86).

2. Follow the article below to enable and configure WebDAV Authoring Rules, etc:

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc431377.aspx

Once you do this push the client again and monitor the ccmsetup.log file.  Now the client agent should install successfully.
