FIX: Enterprise Manager Displays 'SQL Server Standard' for Desktop Edition

SYMPTOMS

Enterprise Manager incorrectly lists the SQL 7.0 Desktop Edition as "SQL Server Standard" in the General tab of the SQL server properties window.

WORKAROUND

Using the SQL Server Query Analyzer, execute the following command: 
select @@version
This query will return all of the correct version information.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in SQL Server 7.0. This problem has been corrected in U.S. Service Pack 1 for Microsoft SQL Server 7.0. For more information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
