This article was previously published under Q202489 SUMMARY
Global language detection occurs automatically in Internet Explorer. If you select the Auto-Detect option (on the View menu, point to Encoding), the correct language setting is automatically determined. If the correct language setting cannot be determined and you know what language should be selected, you can manually set the appropriate language.
MORE INFORMATION
Most Web pages contain information that tells the browser what language encoding (the language and the character set) to use. If the page does not include that information (and you have enabled the Auto-Select feature), Internet Explorer can usually determine the appropriate language encoding.
To use the Auto-Select feature, you must install the corresponding language support files on the computer. You can obtain these files from the Internet Explorer add-on page, or by clicking the encoding items in the Encoding menu. To enable the Auto-Select feature:
You can add a Language Encoding button to your toolbar to make switching between languages quicker and easier. | Other Resources Other Support Sites
