Symptoms

When browsing a Web site that supports AutoComplete for forms or passwords, Internet Explorer 8 does not offer you suggestions or prompt to allow you to save passwords.  This occurs even though the options in the Internet Explorer interface indicate that those features are enabled.

Cause

This behavior can occur if you are browsing the Web site using the InPrivate Browsing mode of Internet Explorer 8.

Resolution

To avoid this behavior, do not use the InPrivate Browsing functionality of Internet Explorer.  Instead, start a normal Internet Explorer 8 browser session.
