Introduction

The Microsoft System Center Operations Manager 2007 SP1 Cumulative Update 1 resolves many issues that are found in System Center Operations Manager 2007 SP1. A prerequisite for installation of the Cumulative Update 1 is installation of System Center Operations Manager SP1 Update (KB 971541). Cumulative Update 1 addresses the following issues:
  • The Active Alerts report from the data warehouse includes auto-resolved alerts that are no longer active in the Operations Manager Console.
  • The Generic performance report consumes lots of temporary database space and can fail in some instances.
  • The agents that are taken out of maintenance mode revisit old entries in the Application log in certain cases. When this occurs, incorrect alerts are generated.
  • When Antigen Enterprise Manager (AEM) is set up to use SharePoint, reports from Watson are blocked.
  • Reports for Operation Manager 2007 SP1 fail when you use a shared data warehouse after you upgrade a Management Group to System Center Operations Manager 2007 R2.
  • Because of a thread-locking issue, the SDK service stops responding in certain cases.
  • The color of the chart lines does not match the legend in Performance views when the Web Console is used.
  • ACS stops collecting data when the event log uses auto-backup.
  • The Alert View link in the notification emails shows the list of active alerts, instead of the detailed alert description.
  • The allow anonymous discovery property in the Internet Information Services (IIS) Management Pack is incorrect in the console.
  • Management Pack discoveries fail when a double-byte character exists in string data that is returned.

SymptomsScenario
The Active Alerts report from the data warehouse includes auto-resolved alerts that are no longer active in the Operations Manager Console. When you run the Active Alerts report from the data warehouse, you find that the alerts that are displayed cannot be found in the Operations Manager console. The incorrect alerts that are displayed were previously auto-resolved.
The Generic performance report consumes lots of temporary database space and can fail in some instancesMultiple Windows Server 2003 agents are installed and have collected lots of performance data. When the performance report is run on Windows Server 2003, the report does not finish running, the Microsoft SQL Server Data Warehouse crashes, and you receive the following error message: “Insufficient Disk Space in temp db.”
The agents that are taken out of maintenance mode revisit old entries in the Application log in certain cases When this occurs, incorrect alerts are generated. An agent was taken out of maintenance mode. The Application event log on the respective machine is larger than expected. New alerts appear in the Operations Manager console for events that occurred in the past
When AEM is set up to use SharePoint, reports from Watson are blocked.SharePoint is deployed, and you configure AEM to work on the computers that are running SharePoint. Watson reporting is also enabled for those SharePoint sites. Watson data, however, is not sent to Microsoft.
Reports from Operation Manager 2007 SP1 are not generated when Operation Manager 2007 SP1 uses a shared data warehouse after Operation Manager is upated to a Management Group in the R2 version. The Operation Manager infrastructure is upgraded to R2. A shared data warehouse exists. One Management Group is upgraded to the R2 version, while other Management Groups are not upgraded. When you try to run any reports, a parameter validation failure occurs.
The SDK service stops responding in certain cases because of a thread-locking issue.Even during typical use of the console, a crash seems to occur. However, the console begins to function again after a few minutes, or the console starts working again after the SDK service is restarted.
The color of the chart lines does not match the legend in Performance views when the Web Console is used. The user selects the performance view for an instance that has a large amount of data in the Web console. The user selects and unselects what data is displayed. After the user selects and unselects the data, the chart lines do not correspond to the chart legend.
ACS stops collecting data when the event log uses auto-backup.Auto-archival for events is enabled on a domain controller that is a forwarder. When auto-archival starts, the forwarder stops collecting event data from the security log, and the following error is logged in the adtagentlog : “[Error ]EventLogReader::ReaderReacord(): ReadEventLog90 returned 0x0000006 and dwBytesNeeded is 0.”
The Alert View link in the notification emails shows the list of active alerts, instead of the detailed alert description. When a notification email is received, the recipient wants to find out the alert details. The recipient copies the link into a browser. However, the Alert View link shows the list of active alerts instead of the appropriate alert details.
The allow anonymous discovery property in the Internet Information Services (IIS) Management Pack is incorrect in the console. The user installs IIS together with an FTP site on a server that is running Windows Server 2003. After the user installs the IIS Management Pack, the Allow Anonymous discovery property changes when the discovery process occurs regardless of how IIS is configured.
Management Pack discoveries fail when a double-byte character exists in string data that is returned. When a discovery process tries to insert a double-byte character into a string value, the request is rejected by the Root Management Server.

Note Double-byte characters are used in non-Latin languages such as Japanese.
