SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario. You use Windows Internet Explorer 8 to browse webpages that contain XML files. When you switch between XML files in a webpage, a memory leak issue occurs. Additionally, after you perform several navigation actions, the system performance decreases gradually.

CAUSE

This issue occurs because of a problem in the Mshtml.dll module. This module does not free up some unused resources in the XML loading and unloading process.
