SharePoint Ribbon tabs are too small and text is truncated when using the Zoom feature in Internet Explorer

SYMPTOMS

When you browse to a SharePoint 2010 site the Ribbon tab where you see Site Actions and Browse are small and the word Browse will be truncated so you cannot see the whole word.

CAUSE

Internet Explorer 8 is zoomed past 100%

View -> Zoom
Back to the top

RESOLUTION

Restore zoom to 100%

View -> Zoom -> 100%
