When you save a workbook, a custom toolbar that is attached to the workbook may not be saved.

This behavior occurs when you save the workbook in the "Microsoft Excel 5.0/95 Workbook" file format.

NOTE: If you save the workbook in the "Microsoft Excel Workbook" file format, an attached toolbar is saved with the workbook.

To attach a custom toolbar to a workbook, follow these steps:
  1. On the Tools menu, click Customize, and then click the Toolbars tab.
  2. Click Attach.
  3. Click the custom toolbar you want to attach, and then click Copy.
  4. Click OK and then click Close.
