This article describes how to create a stamp substitute in the upper-right
corner of an envelope or postcard, such as the following:

To create a stamp substitute, follow these steps:
- Open or create your envelope or postcard document.
- On the View menu, point to Toolbars, and then click Drawing.
- On the Drawing toolbar, click the Text Box icon.NOTE: Word 2000 automatically switches to print layout view when you insert a drawing object or perform another task that requires print layout view.
- In the upper-right corner of the envelope or postcard, draw a text box to represent the stamp substitute.
While the text box is still selected, you can select or change the line style by clicking Line Style on the Drawing toolbar and then clicking the line style that you want. - Type the appropriate text into the stamp text box.NOTE: You can adjust the position of the stamp substitute by selecting and
dragging the text box to a new position on the envelope or postcard.
