WD2000: Error Message: "Word Could Not Insert the Address"

SYMPTOMS

When you insert an address from the Address Book, the following error message appears:
Word could not insert the address. One or more address fields are missing from the selected address book. Pick another address book or change your address layout and try again.

CAUSE

This error message can be caused by one of the following conditions:
  • The field you are using is invalid or incorrect. For example, it may be misspelled.

    -or-
  • All of the fields in your AddressLayout AutoText entry are associated with Address Book fields that do not contain any data. This error message does not appear if at least one of the fields contains data.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

MORE INFORMATION

The Categories field from Microsoft Outlook is not available for import into Word 2000 by using the Address Book.
