SUMMARY

When your Xbox 360 S console attempts to access the internal hard drive, one of the following two messages is displayed:
No storage devices found.
Or

To create a profile on this console, connect a memory unit or USB storage device and select Continue.

Note Some Xbox 360 S consoles only come with internal flash memory which is not removable. For these consoles, the hard drive bay is empty. The hard drive can be purchased separately.

To remove and reinstall the hard disk
  1. Turn off the console.
  2. Position the console horizontally.
  3. On the right side of the console, locate the hard disk drive cover release. It is close to the back of the console.
  4. Slide the release toward the front of the console, while pulling the hard disk drive door open.

  5. Pull the tab on the hard disk until the disk comes out.

  6. Insert the hard disk back into the slot and press firmly until you hear it click.

  7. Replace the hard disk drive cover.
  8. Turn on the console and try to access the hard disk.
