Visual Studio 2010 crashes when you close a large Visual Basic project

Consider the following scenario:

• You have a large Visual Basic project in Microsoft Visual Studio 2010.
• The project contains user tasks or comments in the Task list, or errors in the Error list. 
• You try to close the project

In this scenario, you experience the following symptoms:

• The Visual Studio IDE crashes.
• You receive the event error CLR20r3 in the Msvbide.dll module or in the Devenv.exe module.

Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft. However, it is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply it only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing.
