PPT2000: AutoRecovered Presentation Always in Normal View

SYMPTOMS

When you start PowerPoint after it unexpectedly quits , the AutoRecovered presentation is always displayed in Normal (Tri-pane) view. This happens even if you were in Slide, Outline, Notes, or Slide Sorter view when PowerPoint closed.

CAUSE

This functionality is by design.

WORKAROUND

To turn on the AutoRecovery feature in PowerPoint, follow these steps:
  1. On the Tools menu, click Options.
  2. Click the Save tab.
  3. Click to select the Save AutoRecover Info check box.
  4. Adjust the number in the Minutes box to control how often PowerPoint saves the AutoRecover information.
