Article ID: 214759 - Last Review: February 20, 2007 - Revision: 2.2 Access Denied Error When Attempting to Connect to a Network Share
This article was previously published under Q214759 SYMPTOMS
When you attempt to connect to a network share, you may receive the following error message:
\\Servername\share is not accessible. Access Denied CAUSE
This problem can occur when the share permissions are set correctly but the NTFS partition permissions granting access to individual folders or files have not been properly assigned. This problem can also occur when the reverse is true.
RESOLUTION
This issue may be resolved by verifying that both the share permissions and the NTFS partition permissions are correctly configured for individual user or group access.
