FIX: Developer Studio Crashes While Trying to Do a Save As

SYMPTOMS

When you click Save As on the File menu for a Utility project created in Visual InterDev 6.0 or Visual J++ 6.0, the following error message appears:
The instruction at "0x5e09ecd0" referenced memory at "0x00131000". The memory could not be "read".

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a bug in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

Steps to Reproduce Behavior

  1. Using Visual InterDev 6.0 or Visual J++ 6.0, create a new Visual Studio Utility Project.
  2. On the File menu, click Save As.
