Web Style and Custom Options Unavailable in Folder Options Dialog Box

SYMPTOMS

When you click Folder Options on the View menu in Windows Explorer or My Computer, the Web style and Custom, based on settings you choose options may be unavailable on the General tab.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if you are using the Microsoft TweakUI tool, and the IE4 enabled check box is not selected.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this behavior, click to select the IE4 enabled check box. To do so, follow these steps:
1.Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
2.Double-click TweakUI.
3.On the IE4 tab, click to select the IE4 enabled check box.
4.Click OK.

MORE INFORMATION

This behavior still occurs if you uninstall TweakUI. If you uninstall TweakUI, reinstall it from the Tools\Reskit folder on your Windows 98 CD-ROM, and then follow the steps in this article.
