SUMMARY

There is not an option for opening HTML files or Web Pages in the Files of type field of the Open Publication dialog box of Microsoft Publisher 2000. These file types are also not listed when you select the All Text Formats option.

MORE INFORMATION

Microsoft Publisher 2000 cannot open HTML pages. Microsoft Publisher can export publications as HTML, however, once an HTML file has been created Publisher cannot edit the finished HTML page. If you must modify the HTML code, it can be modified by an HTML editor, such as Microsoft FrontPage.

The only way to retrieve information from an HTML file using Microsoft Publisher 2000 is to select Recover Text from any File in the Files of type field in the Open Publication window. You will be able to edit the raw HTML code, but you will not be able to view the code as you would in an HTML browser. The edited code must be saved as Plain Text, with an HTM or HTML extension.
