SYMPTOMS

The EdgeTransport.exe process crashes intermittently on a Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 server. Additionally, the following event is logged on the server:


Event Type: Error
Event ID: 4999
Event Source: MSExchange Common
Description:
Watson report about to be sent for process id: <process ID>, with parameters: E12, <build type>, <application version>, edgetransport, unknown, M.E.D.S.RetryBagFactory.ctor, System.NullReferenceException, <callstackHash>, <assembly version>.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, install the following update rollup:
