You can use the Post Platform registry entry to denote a special User Agent string (UAS) that a proxy or firewall recognizes to allow clients that are running Microsoft Internet Explorer to browse the Internet. Without this client-specific UAS, Internet Explorer cannot connect to the Internet. When you use Internet Explorer Administration Kit (IEAK) on one of these client computers, you might not be able to connect to the Internet to perform an automatic version synchronization. You can use automatic version synchronization to download the latest Internet Explorer files to build an updated Internet Explorer distribution. CAUSE
When the IEAK Wizard connects to the Internet, it does not send the client-specified UAS. Instead, it sends the standard UAS with "IEAKWIZ" appended. Therefore, the proxy or firewall does not use the client-specified UAS and restricts that connection from Internet access.
