SYMPTOMS

Design time controls can still use scripting even if JavaScript and VBscript have been disabled in the Compatibility Options.

In the Page Properties, you can specify design-time controls to use JavaScript or VBscript, even if JavaScript and VBscript have been disabled in the Compatibility Options.

MORE INFORMATION

Design-time controls place custom code in the source of a page. Although you can insert design-time controls in FrontPage, the control is not effected when you change the compatibility options.

If you do not want to use scripting in the pages, some design-time controls can be scripted and run on the server. Your server must support the scripting language for this functionality.

You may set the server-side scripting language for design-time controls in the Page Properties dialog box.
