WINS Replication May Overwrite or Merge Static 1C Records

SYMPTOMS

After you apply Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 4 on a computer running Microsoft Windows Internet Naming Service (WINS), static 1C records in the WINS database may be overwritten during WINS replication with dynamic records or merged with other 1C records.

RESOLUTION

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Windows NT 4.0. This problem was first corrected in Windows NT version 4.0 Service Pack 5.
