Cannot Install Corel WordPerfect 6.2 for DOS on Windows 2000 NTFS Partition

SYMPTOMS

You are unable to install Corel WordPerfect for DOS onto a Windows 2000 NTFS-foramtted parition and may receive one or more errors during the setup process.

To work around this problem, modify the value of Files= in the Config.nt file to read:

Files=40

The Config.nt file is located in the %SystemRoot%\System32 subdirectory.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because the setup program for Corel WordPerfect 6.2 for DOS is unable to create folders when trying to install to a Windows 2000 NTFS-formatted partition.

A new feature of Ntfs.sys included with Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 4 and greater is the ability to read NTFS volumes formatted in the Windows 2000 NTFS format. This feature is useful in dual boot situations where Windows 2000 is installed on the same computer.
