Refresh Does Not Change a Web Hit Counter

SYMPTOMS

When you view a Web page that contains a hit counter and you press F5 or click Refresh on the Internet Explorer tool bar, you do not add a number to the hit counter.

CAUSE

This behavior is by design.

WORKAROUND

To update the hit counter, press and hold down the CTRL key while you press the F5 key or click the Refresh button.
