SUMMARY

This article introduces a new feature for Microsoft Exchange Server 2007. After you apply this update, the No end date check box can be disabled in a recurring meeting item in Outlook Web Access (OWA).

RESOLUTION

To apply this update, install the following update rollup:
2509911 Description of Update Rollup 4 for Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 3
After you apply this update, create one of the following registry subkeys:
  • Path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchange OWA
    Name: RecurrencesDefault
    Type: DWORD
Value: A number indicating the number of days after which the recurrence will end.

Note If this registry subkey is set, OWA changes the default recurrence type of a new recurring item from No end date to End by. Additionally, the default date is the current date plus the number of days that is specified by the registry value. The existing recurring items are not affected.
  • Path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchange OWA
    Nme: DisableRecurNoEnd
    Type: DWORD
Value: A value of other than 0

Note If this registry key is set, OWA disables the No end date check box and selects the End by check box by default when you create a new recurring item.

MORE INFORMATION

When you create a recurring meeting item, you can click the Recurrence button to see the No end date check box that is located under the Range of Recurrence group in the Recurrence page.
