SYMPTOMS

Any attempt to unregister the Visual Basic 6.0 run-time msvbvm60.dll fails.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a bug in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

Steps to Reproduce Behavior

  1. On the Taskbar, click the Start button, and then click Run.
  2. In the Run dialog, type the following command:

    Regsvr32.exe /u msvbvm60.dll
  3. Click OK.

    Note that Regsvr32.exe /u msvbvm60.dll fails although running Regsvr32.exe msvbvm60.dll is successful.
