This error message occurs for one of the following reasons. See the "What to Try" section for the resolution that applies to your situation:
The printer may be unavailable.
The driver for your network printer may require that the printer port be captured.
The printer driver may be damaged or the network computer that is sharing the printer may be down or have a problem with print services.
Printer UnavailableIf the printer is attached directly to the computer, verify that the printer is on and properly connected. If the printer is on a network, verify that the printer is accessible from another computer on the network.
Capture a Port for the Network PrinterBefore you begin this procedure, check with your network administrator to make sure that you have the correct path for the network printer.
Reinstall the Printer Driver or Check Network Print Services
