CAUSE

WHAT TO TRY

Install Internet Explorer 5

If you installed Office 2000 or Outlook 2000, and chose to not upgrade to Internet Explorer 5, you may encounter any of the above errors when importing a digital certificate. To install Internet Explorer 5, follow these steps:
  1. Quit all programs.
  2. Open Windows Explorer, and on your Office 2000 CD1, navigate to the \IE5\EN folder, where EN is your language version.
  3. Double-click Ie5setup.exe to begin Setup.

Replace the Damaged Certificate File

If you are already using Internet Explorer 5, the likely cause of this problem is a damaged Certificate file. To resolve this problem, obtain a new certificate from an authorized, certificate-issuing authority.
