NOTE: The procedures in this article only apply if you have installed Outlook with the Corporate or Workgroup option. With this option, you can use Messaging Application Programming Interface (MAPI) services. To determine your installation type, click About Microsoft Outlook on the Help menu. ERROR MESSAGEWhen saving items you may encounter one of the following error messages:

If you are attempting to save an item to a public folder, you may not have the required permissions.
If you are working with forms, you may have reached a field limitation.
The item you are attempting to save is damaged.
WHAT TO TRY
Problems Saving To Public FoldersThe error occurs because you have selected a folder property specifying that selected custom forms and the standard forms should both be allowed in this folder.
Select the folder property that specifies any form is allowed in this folder. For additional information about setting the correct folder properties, please see the following article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

Problems Saving Forms With Many FieldsWhen problems occur with very large forms, they usually occur when you publish the form, send an item, save an item to a folder, save the form as an Outlook template (.oft), or use the Advanced Find feature on items with many custom fields. Other scenarios may also encounter problems with very large forms or items.
There is no exact limit to the number of fields and controls you can use on a custom Outlook form, but Microsoft Product Support Services recommends that custom Outlook forms have less than 300 controls or user-defined fields, otherwise the form may not function correctly.

Damaged ItemIf you attempt to save a damaged or corrupted item, you may receive one of the above error messages. To determine if the problem is item specific, try saving a same type item to the same location. If this also fails, you may have a permissions problem for the destination folder. If the second item saves, the first item may be damaged and you will need to recreate it before it can be saved.
