When you attempt to compress or encrypt folders in Windows 2000, the Compress and Encrypt check boxes within the property sheet of the folder are selected and unavailable. Also, you may not be able to create files in the folder.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs because you may have compressed a folder in Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 4 that contains files or folders encrypted in Windows 2000. This could have occurred after either:
