On This PageSYMPTOMSWhen you try to open a Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) namespace on a computer that is running Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2 (SP2), you receive the following error code: 0x80041002 (WBEM_E_NOT_FOUND)
CAUSEThis issue occurs because the WMI repository is corrupted. The WMI service does not handle an item deletion operation for the WMI repository correctly. Therefore, the index tree of the WMI repository is corrupted, and the error code that is mentioned in the "Symptoms" section occurs when you try to open a namespace. Note Not all WMI repository corruption issues are caused by this issue. RESOLUTIONHotfix informationA supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing the problem described in this article. This hotfix might receive additional testing.
