When you only alter one property of the slide frame image on the Notes Page for that slide, such as making a solid 6 point line border to be a dashed line, the printed output will look different. In the prior example, the dashed line prints, but at a hairline thickness and not at the 6 point thickness, despite the fact that it appears to be a 6 point dashed line on the screen.

This problem will occur if Background Printing is enabled in PowerPoint 2000. When Background Printing is enabled, PowerPoint will lose the connection between the Notes Master and the Notes Pages if the Notes Pages have been taken "off master", and no longer follow the Notes Master's format.

Turn Off Background Printing
To disable Background Printing, follow these steps:
| 1. | On the Tools menu, click Options. |
| 2. | Click on the Print tab. |
| 3. | Next, click to clear the Background Printing box, then click OK. |
The Notes Pages should now print correctly.
