SUMMARY

This article describes the Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 issues that are fixed in the hotfix package that is dated August 31, 2010.

INTRODUCTION

Issues that this hotfix package fixes

  • Consider the following scenario:
    • You receive a signed email message in Microsoft Office Outlook 2007.
    • The message contains an encryption certificate.
    • You add the sender to your Outlook contacts.

In this scenario, the certificate is not added to the Outlook contact as expected.

  • Consider the following scenario:
    • Your mailbox is moved to Microsoft Exchange Server 2010.
    • In Office Outlook 2007, you open an email message that contains an attachment. The message was sent by an external user.
    • You click the Microsoft Office button, point to Save As, and then click Save Attachments.

In this scenario, the attachment is not saved as expected.

  • Consider the following scenario:
    • You use a computer that is running Office Outlook 2007 to connect to a server that is running POP and SMTP services.
    • You enable IPv4 and IPv6 services on the server and on the computer.
    • The computer has IPv4 network connectivity. However, the computer does not have IPv6 network connectivity.
    • You click Send/Receive in Office Outlook 2007.

In this scenario, Office Outlook 2007 cannot connect to the server.

  • When you print-preview a calendar in Month view in Office Outlook 2007, you notice that some words in the Subject line are separated and are displayed on two lines.

  • Assume that the reading pane is enabled in Office Outlook 2007. When you install an add-in to change the underlying body of an email message from a stub message body to the full message body, the full message body is not loaded as expected.

  • Consider the following scenario:
    • You enable the Allow in-cell editing option in Office Outlook 2007.
    • You click to select or click to clear a check box in the View pane. For example, you click to select the Do Not AutoArchive check box.

In this scenario, a memory leak occurs.

  • Consider the following scenario:
    • On a computer that is running Office Outlook 2007, you set the Regional Settings option to Turkish.
    • You use an online profile in Office Outlook 2007, and then you set Office Outlook 2007 to Group view.
    • You press the "i" key to go to the email messages that you have received from senders whose names start with the letter "I."

In this scenario, Office Outlook 2007 goes to the first email message that you have received from a sender whose name starts with the letter "J." Or, Office Outlook 2007 stops responding.

  • Consider the following scenario:
    • In Office Outlook 2007, you use Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) code to save email messages when they are sent.
    • You create an email message, and then you enable the Request a Read Receipt option and the Use Voting Buttons option. Then, you send the email message.
    • The recipients of the email message read the email message and then submit their votes.

In this scenario, Office Outlook 2007 cannot track the read receipt for the sent email message in the Sent Items folder. Additionally, the vote results are not counted.

  • In Office Outlook 2007, you try to open one of the embedded messages that is attached to an email message. However, the embedded message that is opened is not the embedded message that you wanted to open.

  • You create a public folder calendar and then add this calendar to your favorite folders in Office Outlook 2007. However, when you switch to Calendar view, you notice that "in Public Folders" is inserted after the name of the public folder calendar that you created.

  • Assume that you install the update that is described in Microsoft Knowledge Base article 983316. However, when you try to print an email message, Office Outlook 2007 stops responding.

  • When you print an email message that contains an embedded image and other attachments in Office Outlook 2007, the embedded image opens unexpectedly.
