The "Record a closed campaign response" check box is selected by default incorrectly in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0

When you convert an activity to an opportunity in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0, you notice that the Record a closed campaign response check box is selected by default. You expect the check box to be not selected by default.

Prerequisites

You must have .NET 3.5 SP1 and C++ Runtime 9.0 SP1 installed to apply this hotfix.

To enable this hotfix on the computer that is running Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0, follow these steps:

1. Under the
   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MSCRM
   registry subkey on the Microsoft Dynamics CRM server, add the following DWORD registry entry:
   ActivityConvertDlgCampaignUnchecked
2. Set the value of the registry entry that you just added to 1.

To enable this hotfix on a computer that is running Microsoft Dynamics CRM for Microsoft Office Outlook, follow these steps:

1. Under the
   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MSCRMClient
   registry subkey on the Microsoft Dynamics CRM server, add the following DWORD registry entry:
   ActivityConvertDlgCampaignUnchecked
2. Set the value of the registry entry that you just added to 1.

Note By default, the value of the ActivityConvertDlgCampaignUnchecked registry entry is 0.
