When an administrator tries to add a domain to a Microsoft Office 365 subscription, the administrator may receive one of the following error messages:
Number of unverified domains exceeded.
Your account has too many unverified domains. Verify or delete one of your unverified domains, and then add the new domain.

Domain already exists
The domain is already associated with your account.

To resolve this issue, use one of the following methods:
  • If you have several unverified domains, remove them. Or, verify some of your unverified domains.
  • If you received the "The domain already exists within the Office 365 Subscription" error message, no action is required on your part because the domain already exists.

This issue may occur if one of the following conditions is true:
  • The maximum number of unverified domains has been reached.
  • The domain already exists within the Office 365 subscription.
