On Windows 7, you cannot stop music playback from a Bluetooth headset with a stop button when you are in the “Add a device” menu

SUMMARY

Consider the following scenario:

o On Windows 7, pair a Bluetooth headset and use Windows Media Player to play music
o Open up Devices and Printers via the Start button
o Click “Add a device”
o Highlight the device listed
o Try to stop the music playback through the Bluetooth headset

The stop button does not function while the device is selected at this “Add a device” window.

To workaround this issue:

Use Windows Media Player to pause or stop the music while you have a device selected at the “Add a device” menu

Or

Click next to move to the next screen in the Add a device menu, this will allow the stop button to function again.
