Microsoft distributes Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 fixes as one downloadable file. Because the fixes are cumulative, each new release contains all the hotfixes and all the security fixes that were included with the previous SQL Server 2008 R2 fix release.

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:

  • You create a folder in Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 Reporting Services.

  • You name the folder by using characters that have to be encoded in the URL.

  • You open the folder, and then you click Folder Settings.

In this scenario, you receive the following error message:

The item '/微软中国' cannot be found. (rsItemNotFound)

Additionally, you notice that the item name is unreadable.

Note By default, the following characters have to be encoded in the URL:

  • ASCII control characters

  • Non-ASCII characters

  • Reserved characters, such as ”$,” ”&,” and “+”

  • Unsafe characters, such as the space character, “<”, and “>”

Cause

This problem occurs because the folder name is not encoded in the URL.
