The installer has insufficient privileges to access this directory" error message when you run Office 2000 SetupThis article was previously published under Q228658 SYMPTOMS When you install Office, an error message similar to the
following may appear: Error 1303. The installer has
insufficient privileges to access this directory: <Directory>. The
installation cannot continue. Log on as administrator or contact your system
administrator. CAUSE You will receive the above error if either of the following
is true for the folder in which you are installing Office:
RESOLUTION To prevent this error from occurring, make sure the folder
location into which you are installing Office has Full Control permissions for
either the Everyone group or the SYSTEM group. Check the permissions for the
parent folders because the permissions on these folders may also cause this
problem.
