INTRODUCTION

Issues that this hotfix package fixes

  • Assume that you open more than one project in Project Professional by using Project Server. When you save a baseline in one project, the timephase baseline work values in other projects that are open are changed unexpectedly.
Note The total baseline work, the Baseline Start field, and the BaselineFinish field remain the same.
  • When the internal index that is used to track the ordering of tasks in a project is recalculated, sometimes is not saved unexpected. Therefore, when you reopen a project, tasks may appear in the wrong places within the project.
  • Assume that you apply fixed costs to a task in Microsoft Office Project 2007. When the automatic calculation of the actual cost for tasks is disabled, the value for the remaining cost is not be calculated correctly. Therefore, the remaining cost is listed for tasks that are marked as partly or fully completed. This differs from the behavior in Microsoft Office Project 2003.
  • When you save a project, the process fails and you receive the following error message:

    Job Type: Save
    Error ID: 12005(0x2EE5)
Error Description: Queue Failed to Process the message.

In this situation, Project Server forces Project Professional to retry the job and to perform a full save. However, the server does not save the retried job unexpectedly.
  • Office Project Professional 2007 crashes when you copy and paste data in a master project from a subproject.
  • Consider the following scenario. You open a master project that contains sub projects. You do not expand the sub projects. The master project uses a base calendar that differs from the base calendar of the sub projects. In this scenario, the finish date of the sub projects is recalculated to a later date unexpectedly every time that the master project is recalculated. Eventually, the finish date of the sub projects ends on 12/31/2049.
  • You save a master project. However, when you try to save a sub project, you receive the following error message:

    The file cannot be saved.

  • When you work in a master project in Office Project 2007 and you delete a task dependency or a link in a sub project, Office Project 2007 crashes.
  • Consider the following scenario.
    • On an existing task, you set the Work field to 0h. This creates a milestone task.
    • You set the %Complete field of the task to 100%.
    • You synchronize the Protected Actuals action.
In this scenario, the start date of the task changes to NAunexpectedly.
Note If you set the %Complete field of the task to 0%, Project Professional crashes.
